Getting Started
What do I need to open a merchant account?

To get started you'll need a completed merchant account application and a voided check for your business checking account. During underwriting, we may also request supporting documentation such as a business license, utility bill, or government-issued ID. The process is straightforward and our team walks you through it.
How long does it take to open a merchant account?

Once we receive a completed and signed application along with any requested supporting documents, your merchant account can typically be set up within 3–5 business days. We can often move faster if your situation requires it — just let us know.
Does my business qualify for a merchant account?

We work with retail, professional service providers, health and wellness practices, mail order, telephone order, internet-based, and home-based businesses across the United States. If you're in the health and wellness space — med spa, plastic surgery, pilates studio, chiropractic practice, functional medicine, or any related specialty — you almost certainly qualify.
Do I need a business checking account?

If your business is structured as a corporation (Corp, S Corp, LLC, or Partnership) you'll need a business checking account. If you operate as a sole proprietorship, you may use either a personal or business checking account.
Do you work with businesses outside the United States?

No. We process for US-based merchants only.
Pricing & Costs
What is interchange-plus pricing and why does it matter?

Interchange-plus separates the actual card network cost (set by Visa, Mastercard, etc.) from our markup. You see both line items on every statement — so you know exactly what you're paying and why. Most flat-rate processors (Square, Stripe, built-in processing on platforms like Mindbody) bundle these together in a way that's almost always more expensive for businesses processing over $10K/month.
Are there monthly fees or hidden charges?

We believe in full transparency. If there's a monthly fee associated with a service — gateway access, PCI compliance support, etc. — it will be clearly explained upfront. We don't hide fees in fine print. Our free statement audit shows you exactly what you'll pay before you sign anything.
Is there a contract or cancellation fee?

Most of our accounts are month-to-month with no cancellation penalties. Some hardware lease arrangements may have terms — we'll spell everything out clearly before you commit to anything. We earn your business by delivering value, not by locking you in.
What is the free statement audit and what does it include?

Send us your most recent merchant processing statement (any processor, any format) and our team will analyze it line by line within 48 hours. We'll identify your effective rate, monthly fees, hidden markups, and PCI-related charges — then compare that to what you'd pay with Beacon. You receive a written savings report. There's no obligation to switch.
Operations & Support
How quickly do I get paid after processing a transaction?

Using ACH, we typically remit funds to your business bank account within 24–48 hours. We deposit the full amount processed — fees are billed separately on your monthly statement so you always see what came in versus what was deducted.
Can I access my account and transaction history online?

Yes. Beacon provides online and offline tools to access your merchant account. You can view, download, and import transaction activity, deposits, funding history, chargebacks, retrievals, and statement information. You also have access to a virtual terminal for processing transactions directly from your browser.
What kind of customer support response can I expect?

When you call, you're connected to your dedicated account manager — not a general support queue. For email and support tickets, we begin working on your request as soon as we receive it. We're available Monday through Friday and have 24/7 support for critical processing issues.
What hardware and terminals do you support?

We support the full Clover POS family (Station, Mini, Flex, Go), as well as First Data / Fiserv terminals, Ingenico, PAX, and Exadigm terminals. For payment gateways, we support Authorize.net, USAePay, and others. If you have existing equipment, tell us what it is and we'll confirm compatibility before you make any changes.
How do you handle chargebacks and disputes?

Your dedicated account manager assists with chargeback responses and dispute documentation. We'll walk you through the process, help you compile the right evidence, and advocate on your behalf with the card networks when appropriate.
Health & Wellness Specific
Do you integrate with Zenoti, Mindbody, Jane App, or other practice software?

Yes. We have experience integrating with Zenoti, Jane App, Vagaro, PatientNow, Nextech, Mindbody, and other practice management platforms common in health and wellness. We'll evaluate your specific software during the free consultation to confirm compatibility and map out the integration.
Can you handle recurring billing for memberships and packages?

Absolutely. Recurring billing for monthly memberships, class packs, treatment packages, and VIP programs is one of our core capabilities for health and wellness clients. We set up automated billing with smart retry logic for failed payments, automatic card updates, and detailed reporting.
We process large transactions — $3,000 to $15,000+ per client. Does that affect our rates?

Yes, and it works in your favor with interchange-plus pricing. High-ticket transactions have different interchange categories than small retail purchases, and we structure your pricing to take advantage of that. Plastic surgery practices and med spas with large ticket averages typically see some of the best effective rates among our clients.
